Project Manager- Group’s Civil and Finishes Projects

The successful candidate will be given overall responsibility of the construction and /or finishes projects carried out by Attard Brothers, ensuring that project objectives are achieved through efficient use of resources.

  • The main responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation of program of works, any variations and monthly reports;
  • Identification and planning of project resources and evaluating costs
  • Day to day site management of the Project;
  • Work closely within the operations team, with the Contracting Department, and Clients on all aspects related to the projects at hand
  • Managing the workforce of the projects in hand
  • Health & Safety on sites

Production & Quality Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Construction materials production companies within the Group;
  • High-level operational management of all production facilities;
  • Quality assurance of production in line with ISO standards;
  • Procurement related to the production activities;
  • Budgeting, forecasting, costing and projection related to production;
  • Product and business development.

The above is to be achieved whilst ensuring:

  • A high level of management and leadership;
  • That financial and operational objectives are achieved;
  • That health & safety measures are followed;
  • That customer satisfaction is guaranteed.

The ideal candidate should preferably be a warranted civil engineer (structural stream) or a warranted mechanical engineer, with at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing / production environment. He/she must also possess:

  • Managerial experience;
  • Experience in costing, forecasting and budgeting;
  • Experience in managing and Maintaining an ISO system;
  • Leadership, and organisational and planning abilities;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • A high level of motivation, initiative and be a team player; and be proficient in MS Office software

Health and Safety Executive

The selected person will be responsible for all Health and Safety matters within Attard Bros Group, ensuring all Local and EU Legislation and Directives concerning H &S are followed. The person will be heading the Health & Safety Section and the role involves planning, implementing, training, monitoring and reviewing our operations from the Health & Safety aspect. His primary objective is to implement preventive works measures and continuous training to guarantee minimization of operational costs whilst maintaining an effective Health & Safety approach throughout the whole Group. The person will be directly reporting to the Chief Operations Officer of the Group.

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in a related position and possess an academic qualification in Health & Safety either local or international. Preference will be given to those applicants already familiar with the construction Industry.

Accounts Executive

A vacancy has arisen for the post of an Accounts Officer within the Finance Department. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the selected candidate will be expected to assume responsibility for the following areas:

  • Suppliers’ statements reconciliations;
  • Assisting in the Credit Control function of the group;
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports;
  • Involvement in the processing of sales and purchase transactions;
  • Responsible for intergroup balances reconciliations;
  • Assistance during the external audit process;
  • Having a direct liaison role with respective Head of Departments;
  • Work in a challenging environment with tight deadlines;
  • Any other tasks that might be assigned from time to time;

Eligible candidates are expected to possess at least an A level in Accounts, however  those further carrying their studies through ACCA or any other equivalent qualification in Accountancy will be considered as an asset. Candidates are also expected to be competent in the use of standard office tools and Windows related packages.

The chosen candidate is expected to possess the right qualities to be effective in this role: good interpersonal skills, can-do attitude, hard-working, attention to detail and be a self-motivated individual.

Mechanical/Electrical Technician

A vacancy has arisen for the post of a Mechanical/Electrical Technician within the Plant Maintenance Department, reporting to the Maintenance Manager and will form part of the Group Maintenance Team.

The selected candidate will have a sound technical and academic background in this field with a proven track record, preferably also having a Technical Qualification in electrical engineering.

The possession of the Enemalta Wireman License A and B will be considered a strong asset.

The selected candidate must have the ability to work under the minimum of supervision and be able to work extended hours according to need.

IT support officer

In view of further expansion of business, Attard Bros Group, is currently seeking to recruit IT support officer/s to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Head of IT, the candidate/s will provide on-site, telephone, email and remote helpdesk support to company users.  The candidate/s will handle IT support and

operational issues related to ICT processes, systems and usage with the aim of maintaining both internal and external hardware and software systems.  The duties will include configuration of Windows applications, operating systems, troubleshooting, backups, server maintenance, network support and general desktop support.  Small and ad-hoc software developments, and database queries to respond to management information requests will also form part of the assigned responsibilities.

The ideal candidate/s should possess a qualification and experience in IT support and/or software development.  A College or University qualification will be considered as an asset.  Excellent interpersonal and troubleshooting skills go hand in hand with this role.

Candidates knowledgeable in as many of the following IT technologies (Cisco CCNA and/or Microsoft MCP levels, RDBMS including MSSQL 2008-2012 server, C#, Visual Studio, HTML,

ASP.net and SQL scripting) will be given preference.

Quantity Surveyor

The successful candidate will work on both Pre-Contract and Post-Contract tenders on a variety of construction projects – both civil and finishing works in conjunction with the respective Project Manager.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Tendering
  • Undertaking Cost Analysis
  • Provide full commercial support to Project Managers
  • Providing advice on contractual claims
  • Preparation of monthly financial / cost reports and forecasts in conjunction with the  Project Manager / Architect
  • Assist with the placing of sub-contract orders, monitoring sub-contract accounts including preparation of interim valuations and final account settlement in accordance with pre-established conditions
  • Resolution of Final Accounts with clients
  • General Quantity Surveying Procedures

The successful candidate should preferably have:

  • A strong background in the Construction and Finishes Industry
  • Demonstrate experience in estimating and tendering procedures including tender analysis,  with at least 4 years of related work experience.
  • A degree level in Quantity Surveying or membership with a recognised Quantity Surveying Institution
  • Be meticulous and well-organised and able to work on tight deadlines
  • Extensive IT skills especially in the use of MS Office and MS Project.

Site Foreman (male or female) – Civil Works / Finishes

Roles to be performed by the selected person shall include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising and managing the company’s personnel and subcontractors assigned to him/her on various multi-discipline projects.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the execution of set tasks and targets on site. 
  • Responsible for the provision and coordination of the resources and materials required to execute works.
  • Maintain all records related to site works, variations from original works, daily allocation of resources and labour.
  • Coordinating and liaising with client’s site representative.
  • Executing works cost effectively.
  • Be responsible for the safety of project personnel and 3rd parties and implementing Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintaining personnel weekly attendance records, requesting and coordinating manpower, equipment and material requirements on sites.

The candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory position in the construction industry with a proven track record of supervising and directing the activities of all the different trades in this industry. The candidate should be ready to supervise multiple sites at any given time. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Project Manager.

Carpenters

The selected candidate will be doing joinery and carpentry works on solid wood / veneer / melamine furniture and doors. He / She must be well organised, able to set and operate woodworking machinery as well as work to and follow working drawings and cutting list instructions. The candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience in this role.
