A construction labourer or construction worker does physical labour on construction sites. They may prepare sites by cleaning them, loading, or unloading materials, and removing hazards. A general labourer may also run some types of equipment or put together and take apart scaffolding and other temporary structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. General cleaning duties and safe upkeep of the construction sites during loading/unloading of delivered materials.
  2. Dismantling and cleaning shuttering works.
  3. Will be required to assist the steel fixers in handling rebar works.
  4. Will be required to help in erection/dismantling of scaffolding.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
Must have a doctor’s certificate that he is fit to work on construction sites and at heights.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / QUALITIES / TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED IN THIS POSITION
Previous experience on construction sites is an asset
