- Ing Chris Calleja B.Mech.Eng. (Hons) Eur. Ing. MBAGeneral Manager Construction and Production
Having graduated from the University of Malta as a Mechanical Engineer in 1991, Chris went on to specialise in Production Engineering. Chris was awarded the Eur Ing by FEANI in 1996 in recognition of the experience obtained within the Engineering field. Chris furthered his studies in Management and obtained Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 2003. His research focused on Operations Management. Chris has worked locally and abroad for various companies operating within the product development and manufacturing sectors. Chris was responsible for setting up and running a German-owned subsidiary within the medical sector. Chris is the General Manager for the Production and Construction operations of Attard Bros.
- Thomas Sammut MCIOB, EuroGeoContracts Manager
Thomas graduated in Construction Management from London University in 1975. Subsequently,Thomas was elected as a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (UK) and approved as an EU surveyor. His specialisation is Contract Administration and Estimation. Thomas has extensive overseas experience. For ten years, he worked on projects in Saudi Arabia for Becthtel. Afterwards, he moved to Libya as a Consultant on a major road intersection in Zawiya. Back in Malta, Thomas joined the Public Works Division as a Senior Quantity Surveyor preparing and evaluating tenders for the Government. In 1995, Thomas joined Attard Bros Group as Contracts Manager.
- Joseph Micallef MBA, M.I.M.Senior Manager - Business Development
Graduated from the MCAST in 1975. Joined Malta Consult Ltd and was responsible for the design of commercial, religious, residential and corrective centre projects in the Middle East. As design team leader, Joseph was in charge of design concepts and the production of construction details depending.
In 1980 Joseph won a scholarship in Industrial Design sponsored by the Italian Government. Subsequently, he worked in Marsa Brega, Libya and on various projects in Iraq (Professor Richard England and Edwin Abela’s achitectural office).
In 1984, Joseph was employed by Attard Bros as a Quantity Surveyor. Joseph grew with our Group and was involved in the assessment, purchasing and contract negotation of various plant and equipment including the hollow block making plant and the rebar processing machines. For almost 15 years, Joseph was responsible for the construction division of the group.
In 1998, he graduated as MBA from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. In 2003, Joseph was engaged as Director of Finance and Administration of a construction venture in Libya with the Corinthia Group and afterwards was seconded on the Palm City project in Libya.
- Orlando PisaniQuality Assurance
In 2001 Orlando completed a three year course reading Architect’s Assistant and Draughtsman Diploma, Quantity & Land surveying , at the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology. Orlando started his career as a draughtsman with EMDP on local MEPA applications, AOM partnership Tigne’ Point project coordinating both Architectural & Structural drawings, Tal-Herba Construction as Site coordinator. In 2011 joined Attard Bros Group as a Quality Assurance at Smart city Project Block O2O3, RT3 & RT4. Orlando is furthering his studies following a BSC in Construction Management at the College of Estate Management UK.
- Mario SciclunaConstruction Projects Manager
In 1976 Mario completed a three year course reading for Architect’s Assistant and Draughtsman Diploma, at the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology. Mario started his career as a draughtsman with Malta Consult International, working on overseas projects mainly in the Middle East. In 1979 Mario joined Summa International, a Malta based company offering Architectural and Civil engineering services at Marsa El Brega to Esso Standard (Libya). In 1986 he joined Attard Bros Group as a senior draughtsman responsible for the company’s civil projects. Subsequently, Mario was entrusted with some of the Group’s major projects, including The Playmobil Factory, the Combino Pharm factory upgrade, the new Toyota Showroom, Actavis, refurbishing works at Malta Dairy Products. Mario was also responsible for the Pac & Security Upgrade at US Embassy in Floriana and Pendergardens.
- Ing. Owen Farrugia B.Mech.Eng. (Hons)Logistics and Procurment Manager
Owen graduated from the University of Malta as Mechanical Engineer in 2007. Owen has been very active in various non profit organisations and in sports. In his final year of studies Owen focused his research on the assessment of a new conversion coating technology for magnesium alloys. Owen is currently following a post graduate programme in Supply Chain Management. Owen’s responsibilities include all support services to the Construction Business Unit, including maintenance and engineering work on heavy vehicles as well as plant and machinery.
