Water Recycling at our Manufacturing Facility

The Importance of Water Conservation in Malta’s Industrial Sector.

Water is a precious resource, especially in Malta, where fresh water availability is limited. As an island nation, Malta faces unique challenges in ensuring a sustainable water supply. This makes water conservation in industrial production not just important, but essential. Our Island relies heavily on desalination and groundwater for its fresh water needs. With limited natural freshwater sources, conserving water helps ensure that these resources are not depleted.
Reducing water usage minimizes the strain on natural ecosystems. It helps maintain the balance of local habitats and reduces the energy required for water treatment and distribution.
Efficient water use can lead to significant cost savings for industries. Lower water consumption means reduced utility bills and less expenditure on water treatment and disposal.
Adhering to water conservation regulations helps industries avoid penalties and demonstrates a commitment to sustainable practices.

Once more, we have diligently applied all the required measures to minimize water usage:

Implementing Efficient Technologies: Using water-efficient machinery and processes can drastically reduce water consumption, Also, technologies such as closed-loop systems and water recycling can be highly effective. That's why we use drinking water from the national distribution system exclusively for the offices. All the rest of the company, especially the production facilities, use water from the internal recycling system via a filtration system and interconnected tanks.
We have an in-house reverse osmosis system in place to ensure the constant quality of the water used for production.
An in-house chemical laboratory and external testing facilities work side by side to constantly ensure that the chemical and physical characteristics of the water meet the stringent parameters required for the production of quality-certified building materials.

We have our own reverse osmosis plant, and we recycle water to preserve the environment

Regular Maintenance: Ensuring that equipment is well-maintained prevents leaks and inefficiencies that can lead to water wastage. Our company boasts skilled in-house maintenance staff who proactively address all critical aspects needed for ongoing maintenance to prevent water waste. Routine inspections are conducted, and preventive maintenance measures are taken to avert the premature deterioration of pipes and systems. Additionally, our team upholds a monitoring and measuring system to track water usage and assess the state of filters., resource efficiency, and ecosystem protection.

Employee Training: The management makes a daily effort to convey the importance of water-saving measures to the employees. In the industrial sector, educating employees about the importance of water conservation is crucial. When employees understand the value of saving water and are encouraged to adopt water-saving practices, it can lead to significant reductions in water use.

Monitoring and Reporting: Our water recycling system undergoes continuous monitoring to ensure its proper operation, as well as to compile statistics on water usage relative to production and to project water availability for future production periods. We recognize that consistent monitoring of water usage and setting goals for its reduction are crucial. It is noteworthy that, despite the rise in production and the expansion of our product range, we have maintained steady water consumption levels. This reflects an enhanced ability to optimize the use of our existing internal resources.
